• Le Majestic was built in 1926 by architect Théo Petit — who also designed the Hôtel Normandy in Deauville — on land combining the former Hôtel Beau-Rivage and two neighbouring villas. The building was extended in 1928 by architects Charles Nicod and Émile Molinié, with interiors by Maurice Debenedetti. Directly opposite the Palais des Festivals and its famous red-carpet steps, it has been the Cannes Film Festival's grand hotel for nearly a century.
