  An 18th-century palace on Place de la Concorde, run by Rosewood Hotels — its apartment-style signature suites reimagined by Karl Lagerfeld himself. Marie-Antoinette once took piano lessons in this building, and a suite is named for her. From June 2026, Executive Chef Alan Taudon oversees all dining, headlined by chef Paul Pairet's French grill, Nonos & Comestibles.

• The building itself dates to the 18th century — 10 Place de la Concorde, now run by Rosewood Hotels. Its apartment-style signature suites were reimagined by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld himself, their grey, pared-back aesthetic a direct extension of his own personal style.

  From June 2026, chef Alan Taudon has taken over the hotel's entire dining programme. The headline act is Nonos & Comestibles, chef Paul Pairet's French grill built around bone-in cuts of meat, reviving the conviviality once glorified by the grand hotels; alongside it, L'Herbier Secret leans plant-based and coastal, Jardin d'Hiver covers all-day dining and afternoon tea (Pastry Chef Matthieu Carlin), Bar Les Ambassadeurs pairs cocktails with live music overlooking Place de la Concorde, and La Cave offers private dining.

  Sense, A Rosewood Spa has an indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms and experience showers, with a Himalayan salt wall in the relaxation area; there's also the David Lucas hair salon and a fitness studio.

• 23 room categories span four tiers: Rooms — Deluxe (32㎡), Premier (35㎡), Grand Premier (42㎡); Suites — Junior, Deluxe, Premier and Grand Premier Suite (45-72㎡); the artist-studio-inspired Ateliers d'Artistes apartments (Le Poète, Le Peintre, L'Écrivain, 58-110㎡ — Le Peintre a classic Parisian mansard apartment with Eiffel Tower views); and a run of differently themed signature suites — Bernstein, Duc de Crillon (with original woodwork from the Crillon family's private chapel), Jardin and Louis XV (73-238㎡).

  The Suite Marie-Antoinette, at 90 square metres, marks the room where the queen once took her piano lessons — its 18th-century detailing intact, it's one of Crillon's most historically weighted addresses.

  The Grand Appartement Concorde, at 176 square metres, was designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself — grey-and-white tones, pared-back lines, a rare complete expression of his personal aesthetic inside a hotel room, suited to an important gathering or milestone.

Hôtel de Crillon suits travellers who want to stay inside real history while still welcoming a contemporary design hand — from Marie-Antoinette's piano lessons to Karl Lagerfeld's suite design, this building tells a story spanning more than two centuries. For a more uniformly traditional palace atmosphere, a hotel with consistently classical decor is worth considering instead — but for the contrast of deep history sitting alongside contemporary design, Crillon strikes exactly that note.
